Baccarat rules
Baccarat is a comparison of two hands called Player and Banker. Learn what the labels mean before choosing a stake; neither label identifies the person playing.
How a round is decided
The aim is to back the hand that finishes closer to nine. Card values and the third-card rule determine the result; the dealer follows those rules automatically. Read the table’s rules for card values and settlement before joining.
- Player and Banker are bet names, not playing roles.
- A tie is a separate outcome with its own payout rule.
- Side bets can have separate odds and conditions.
Before placing a bet
Look at the displayed S$ minimum, maximum and betting countdown. A rapid sequence of rounds can make spending harder to notice, so decide on a total session limit and leave when it is reached.
A practical check
If a table offers a Tie bet, compare its stated payout and settlement with the Player and Banker bets. The names sound similar, but the chance and payout rules differ. Only place a bet after the betting window and total S$ stake are clear.
