Blackjack basics
Blackjack asks you to make a hand closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. The exact table rules can change which decisions are available.
One hand at a time
Check how cards are valued, when the dealer draws and what happens on a tie. The on-screen controls may offer hit, stand, double or split only when the table permits them.
- Read the payout for a natural blackjack.
- Check whether the dealer stands or draws on a soft 17.
- Treat insurance and side bets as separate decisions with their own rules.
Keep decisions within a limit
A basic strategy chart describes decisions for a stated rule set, but it does not remove the house edge or promise a return. Use a fixed S$ stake and stop after your planned time or budget.
A practical check
Before using a strategy chart, check whether it assumes the same deck count, dealer rule and doubling options as the table in front of you. Even a matching chart describes choices under those rules; it cannot guarantee a profitable session.
